There’s a welcoming buzz about this simple establishment, where the cakes are definitely the most decorative thing on display. And what cakes. It’s hard to select a favourite from the home-made array, but we’d pick out the Victoria Sponge or the orange and chocolate cake for sure and, of course, the deliciously light treacle tart. Prices are keen, too, with a cream tea (loose leaf naturally) costing just £4.50. One of a number of excellent tea-rooms in Hove, but this just pips the rest (though we also love the very different I Gigi – see entry).
