Once a nightclub and it shows. Live bands and DJs still perform until late at weekends in this huge space with industrial lighting and long communal tables. But note, too, the shiny steel mash tuns behind the bar, which produce the in house Laine Brewery beers (there’s a sister brewery in London). Try their complex, aromatic IPA, hop-heaped evidence of brewer Nigel Dallas’s brewing pedigree, having workied previously for Thornbridge. There are eight cask beers to choose from, all (except Laine's Best) brewed on-site, plus a short list of imported bottles from the likes of Brooklyn and Sierra Nevada.
