Hare and Hounds

75 London Road

Owned by the Brighton-centric Indigo Pubs group, The Hare and Hounds bills itself as Brighton’s first “brewery fresh” pub. That means you can sample Greenwich-based Meantime’s unpasteurised, unfiltered "brewery fresh" lager which – held in two huge tanks, by the pub entrance – is maturing until the moment it is poured. Don’t expect beer nirvana, mind – it is still just lager, albeit hoppier and yeastier than the global brands. There is a wide range of key keg alternatives to the Meantime, but it is probably the best accompaniment to the ‘La Choza’ Mexican street food in this design-led new wave ‘pub’.
