Half Man! Half Burger!

33 Regency Square

Memphis Screaming Whiskey Sauce, rosemary salted fries, a burger called Gonzo. Yes, it can only mean Rory Myers and Matt Woodhouse, the team who make up Half Man! Half Burger!. They’ve fetched up at this ‘beyond achingly cool’ boutique hotel in Regency Square for a weekly pop-up. What they bring to the party is a beef-crazed sense of invention. All their burgers are made from 170g of grass-fed and pastured Sussex prime beef, served as two butter-griddled patties. Burger prices start at a reasonable £6 (for The Naked Lunch), rising to £8 for the aforesaid Gonzo (there’s a bit of a maverick US writer homage going on here), which Taste of Brighton is a big fan of. Monterey Jack, oak-smoked bacon strips, shredded iceberg and the old screaming sauce, a sweet and smokey treat. The rosemary fries are de rigueur, too, at £2.50.
