Following the hop-driven, mega choice formula of Craft Beer Co’s five London venues, this Brighton branch reopened after a typically unfussy first floor renovation in summer 2014. The new look beer menu focuses on the best British breweries with a smattering of beers from around the world (try Bikini Sour from Brooklyn’s brewers Evil Twin Brewing); the food offering comes from the folk at ‘Forty Burgers’, who craft their beef patties from 40 day aged rib and 30 day aged rump. There’s also a good, affordable snack list. Beer is dispensed from 27 draught pumps, including six handpumps for cask. Prices can soar for more esoteric bottle offerings and cult foreign imports such as Toccalmatto's Kilowatt at £6 a half. If your beer geek budget is tight stick to the likes of Thornbridge Tzara or Kent Pale.
