This family-owned neighbourhood gastropub offers a lovely light-filled space tucked away on quiet Rock Street (it used to be the I Go Inn). Simon and Emily Ashley pride themselves on their roasts, served every Sunday from midday to 6pm. You can expect roast topside of Dexter Beef with tingly horseradish cream, Slow Roasted Shoulder of Local Lamb with mint sauce and Roast Kentish Hop Pork Belly with apple sauce for only a little over a tenner. On the beer list there’s a clutch of good Belgians and a range of wheat beers from as far away as Iceland. On the walls are interesting pictures of Brighton’s history, in line with the choice of Busby and Wilds as the pub’s name, which refers to the architects who built much of the Kempown estate and Sussex Square. B&W is also exceedingly child and dog-friendly (expect the latter certainly to want to share your lunch!
