This Marina newcomer only opened in autumn 2014, but this sleek-looking franchise from Birmingham has already conquered the natives, offering a modern gloss on classic Indian Food (their Peshwari Naan, filled with raisins and coconuts is to sigh for at £2.95) but also some surprises. A veggie side Dal Makhani (£4.50), a creamy stew of kidney beans and black lentils, is a triumph of slow simmering. For mains the tandoor dishes and lamb chops on the ‘Britannia Sarkar Ki Pasand’ menu look a good bet, all priced at £14.95. There’s a fairly priced wine list to accompany, too. The Marina’s other representative of the Sub-Continent, Memories of India, will have to look to its laurels.
